IPRO collaborates with healthcare stakeholders across New York State to focus on three aims: better patient care, better population health, and lower healthcare costs through improvement.
Medicare Quality Improvement Organization
As the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) for New York State IPRO works to improve healthcare quality by sharing knowledge and resources and providing education and technical expertise at no cost to healthcare providers, patients and stakeholders in communities throughout our state.
QIO Program Priorities
From August 2011 through July 2014, IPRO is collaborating with healthcare providers and other stakeholders to address a set of priorities established by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. These priorities align our local QIO responsibilities with a bold national plan for making dramatic improvements in healthcare quality and decreasing healthcare costs for all Americans.
